2. Information we collect

Information you provide

Contact information: name, email address, phone number when you fill out a contact form or create an account.
Business information: business name, type, address, and billing details when you subscribe.
Payment information: credit card data is processed by our payment processor and never stored by Skyline.

Information collected automatically

Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, browser type, and operating system (via analytics cookies, if consented).
Device information: IP address, device type, and screen resolution.

Information from POS software

When you use the Skyline POS software (retail cloud edition), transaction data is stored on our servers to provide the service. This includes product names, prices, and sale totals. We do not receive or store individual customer names or payment card numbers from transactions.

Restaurant mode: The restaurant edition stores all data locally on your network (embedded database). No transaction data is sent to our servers unless you explicitly use cloud backup features.

Contract: processing necessary to provide the service you've subscribed to
Legitimate interests: improving our services, preventing fraud
Consent: analytics cookies, marketing emails (you can withdraw at any time)

5. Data sharing

We share personal information only with:

Service providers: hosting (AWS), email delivery (SendGrid), analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) — only if you've consented to analytics cookies. These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
Payment processors: Stripe or similar — they handle billing independently under their own privacy policies.
Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by valid legal process.

6. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after cancellation (to allow for reactivation). After that, your data is permanently deleted. Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months and then deleted. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 9).

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, and access controls limiting which employees can access production data. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions.

8. Children's privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data
Deletion: ask us to delete your personal data
Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
Opt-out (CCPA): California residents may opt out of data sales (we do not sell data)
